A water utility that cares about the community.
Refreshing Ideas to benefit you.

What makes ideas from SAWS refreshing?

It's all about thinking beyond what is expected. At San Antonio Water System, we're committed to providing quality water and wastewater service. But we believe our responsibility extends further.

We are pleased to share our Refreshing Ideas with you – ideas that transform SAWS from just a water utility to a forward-thinking community partner that plans and invests for the future.

Accomplishments like this don't just happen. They start with refreshing ideas that not only impact daily lives, but also protect resources today to ensure a sustainable water supply for all aspects of your life... for generations to come.

image San Antonio is a national leader in water conservation. Despite a 50 percent increase in customers over the same period, the volume of water distributed by SAWS remained the same in 2007 as it was in 1987.
image SAWS has many proactive environmental policies in place, such as preserving more than 28,000 acres of undeveloped land over the Recharge Zone to protect the quality and quantity of water in the Edwards Aquifer.
image SAWS built the largest direct recycled water delivery system in the nation. It's one of the reasons high-profile businesses move here, bringing new jobs and economic benefits while conserving the city's fresh water resources.
Howard Peak "Water is literally the city's life blood. SAWS is meeting the many challenges of conserving, protecting and planning the water needs of this community to ensure a quality and abundant water supply."
