Water for generations.   image
San Antonio teachers receive comprehensive training from SAWS on various water subjects to use in their classrooms.
Students discover the science of water right along with their ABC's in elementary school. In middle school and high school, they learn how to apply that instruction through field studies and experiments.
Community field trips and outreach events extend water education beyond the classroom to adults by providing an in-depth look at SAWS.

Our goal is to build a water-literate society and to inspire future generations of active water stewards.

image "From Rain to Drain" examines where drinking water comes from and how it is treated. Adults have an opportunity to visit an aquifer recharge site, a water pumping station and water recycling center for a first-hand look at the journey of drinking water.

Susan Martin "As an educator, I'm thankful that SAWS continues to provide schools with the Student Water Action Team program. Students are transformed into conscientious, responsible adult citizens who know they have a stake in water conservation and management, as well as the power to help make positive changes in their communities."

"SAWS is very visible in the community, at neighborhood events and city council district functions. They really make an effort to communicate and stay in touch with San Antonio residents. They're very responsive to residential issues, and their rates, considering the state of the economy, are reasonable."
